Janita started her passion for fashion the day she saw her grandmother sew clothes for her collections of dolls.  In retrospect, she never would have suspected that what started off as a childhood chore would become one of her life’s greatest passions.  After graduating from Alabama A&M University with a B.S. degree in Apparel Merchandising and Design with a concentration in Fashion Design, Janita decided to take her passion to a new height with having the privilege to get an internship in Los Angeles, California where she work alongside as a wardrobe assistant and production assistant for all BET Arabesque films with director Roy Campanella II.  Janita took her love for fashion and creativity beyond the design and production studios and into the entertainment industry, another arena that piques her interest and curiosity at the same time.

While her background in wardrobe styling came naturally for Janita.  Fashion styling is her outlet for artistic expression.  Her drive, her focus, her positive energy and fast paced style comes through her every project.

Since 2003, Janita has assisted and led wide range of freelance styling jobs which led her to her first styling job working on the set of her first video with Prim Ft. Freeway and a magazine project with Bout to Blow, a publication for up and coming singers and rappers.  Her resume also includes projects in music videos, fashion shows, and small films.  As more projects tends to progress; Janita continue to build and expand her brand while learning and working towards new projects, new blog posts and collaborations.  In the meantime, you can keep up with Janita on her Fashion Blog at for all your fashion updates as well as follower her on Twitter and Instagram @laqistyling.
